Apply for a Rwanda tourist visa online

Foreign visitors can apply for a 30-day tourist visa before traveling to Rwanda and receive an e-visa by email.

The T2 tourist visa is issued electronically before travel. Print your approval or show it on your phone at arrival.

Eligibility

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.
  • Travel purpose is tourism or a short visit (max 30 days).
  • No pending or refused visa application for the same travel dates.

Documents to prepare

  • Scanned passport bio page (colour, all four corners visible).
  • Recent passport-style photograph.
  • Return or onward flight confirmation.
  • Proof of accommodation or host invitation.

Why requests get rejected

  • Passport expiring within 6 months of arrival.
  • Black-and-white or partially cropped passport scans.
  • Travel dates that do not match the flight confirmation.

How to request this service

  1. Documents required

    Scanned bio page of a passport valid for at least 6 months from arrival date.

    A recent passport-style photo and return flight confirmation.

    Attach every required document as a clear PDF or photo under 10 MB.

  2. Submit and pay

    Open Immigration > Tourist visa (T2). Fill in the form and pay the USD 50 fee by card.

    The approval decision arrives by email within 72 hours with reference IZI-VISA-APR.
